Preview for DC's First Wave #3
Two covers for the highly pushed First Wave. If you havent seen the previews in every DC book. The story is about Doc Savage, The Spirit, and Batman in the early days. In noir style, interesting concept. I know I'll check it out hopefully the previews don't make me hate it before I even read it.

Batman Vs. Killer Croc Statue
The statue comes out 03/03. Anything that has Batman fighting a giant Croc is awesome.
X-Men: Hope 1 Preview
I was pretty excited to see that a new x-men series was coming out and the more I found out about it the more I'm interested. The Artist is Steve Dillion which most people know from his work on Wolverine. His artwork is either hated or loved. Me personally I think it's great. Maybe all his characters have the same angry looking faces but it's very different for anything I've seen. As a kid I grew up on the X-men fox cartoon show. On that show there was a huge part dedicated to the phoenix. I just always thought it was a really epic arc. I'm glad to see it's finally comic back to the comic world. It's coming out next week and I'll be sure to review it. Anything with Cable involved should be at the very least interesting.

Reviews and Rage
Since this is my first blog entry I'll introduce myself. I am a 23 year old guy who lives with his girlfriend. I've been unemployed for six months which I officially makes me an official loser, Ha but with all this free time on my hands I have time for other things that I couldn't do when I was working all day long. So I'll review everything geeky or nerdy or anything people want me too. Basically because what else would I do? Like most 23 year old nerdy guys I like manga, video games, comics, and pretty much anything else you can think of when you see someone walking out of a comic book store.
For this week's reviews I have a whole handful of comics and a video game (RAGE!). Maybe I'll throw in a manga somewhere in the middle. My first review which really isn't that current but I just rented it out because I heard such amazing things about it. Bayonetta is a really interesting concept. It comes from the creator of Devil May Cry. Once I heard that I knew it would be full of flashy fighting moves and really over the top cut-scenes. Holy Crap was I right! The creator was like "hmm I like how my games are really over the top insane but I think we can go crazy". That's where he did an eight ball of coke and came up with Bayonetta. The boss fights never end. It's like one boss fight then five secs of walking then boom boss fight! Then british accent that completely fits in then boom boss fight! Then every horny thirteen year old's fantasy angles then boom! Boss fight! Boss fight! After awhile I stopped and thought why am I playing this? The moves are fun but theres a solid ten moves max and it becomes pretty redundant after awhile. Maybe it's because I'm over 16 but the really obviously put in on purpose sex driven splits and sluttish character is just really silly. Silly as in why do they have to go that far to sell that a woman can be a main character? The action becomes so overboard that I really thought my heart was going to explode, after five minutes I was begging my heart to explode so I could stop listening to Japanese rock and a British girl moaning. As for the actual review in the end I can't give it a real review because I stopped playing it. It just became too annoying to play anymore, I'm glad I rented it. Oh just if anyone wanted to know apparently devil witches have to solve puzzles and have annoying game angles thank you Capcom. On to my next batch of reviews before my main artery gives out on me.
This weeks comics were a pretty good batch. The comics I read were Blackest Night 07, Dark Wolverine 83, Amazing Spider-man 622, The Flash: Rebirth 6.
I just recently started to get into Blackest Night, I'm usually a Marvel reader. That's not because I hate DC I actually love the characters. I just couldn't get into the storylines. My local comic book guy kept trying to get me in and he finally did with the Lantern Corps back stories. The blue lantern story is insanely sad you have to go read it! Back to my actual review sorry for going off subject I ramble sometimes. Blackest Night 07 was pretty much all I expected. The best part was the last few pages mainly because the Green Lantern didn't get to be the hero HA! Screw you Hal Jordan! Let someone else do something for once, you and you're amazing green ring I'm sick of it! Maybe if your ring was a different color *wink* Get it? If not read Blackest Night 07 I think you'll like it.
Dark Wolverine 83 was a good comic if you read 82. If you didn't you would be as confused as when I'm reading blackest night and only getting about half of the references because I didn't read a DC comic that came out in 77. Oh snap DC Burn! It's interesting if you're a wolverine fan because maybe Daken has a interesting future ahead of him but I feel like this character is going to go really downhill after Seige. I really hope not but he seems like he's going to become as unimportant as Frankencastle which is ironic because he killed Punisher. As a stand alone issue it was good but it's 2 out of a 3 part seige arc so make sure to read the first.
Amazing Spider-man 622 was an all around good issue but not as good as the past few issues. The writer for amazing has really increased to the point that I buy it weekly. It's weird that it's coming out almost every week but I give credit to the writer because every week it's solid writer. The artwork is timeless. That's really the best word for it because it reminds me of the 60's artwork it's modern all at the same time. Black Cat and Morpheaus made cameos. I liked the small Twilight reference because screw twilight there I said it. I know I just lost all the 14 year old brace face girl demo I was carrying, damnit! Come back ! I'm sure I can make a book about Frankenstien falling in love for the first time with a girl in middle school or some random other crappy story! If you like reading spider-man stories that loosely tie into each other and are well written I say start reading Amazing Spider-man.
My last comic was Flash: Rebirth 6. Not really much to say if you can read the title that's what happens. Bad guy tries to stop it and Flash gets all down on himself. Flash realizes he's awesome and has a sweet parade at the end. Thanks DC for not letting me down on a major character coming back unlike other major comic companies. You know who you are! That's it for now I'll blog about more stuff that I have time for now. Thanks economy I lost most of my money and barely can pay my rent but I created a blog that counts for something, right?
